Anaiya

Anaiya is a talented singer-songwriter from the Hunter Valley, NSW, captivating audiences with her soulful performances and heartfelt original music. At just eighteen years old, she is already making waves as a solo artist, a duo performer, and the lead vocalist of her dynamic four-piece band.

With a unique blend of powerful melodies and authentic lyrics, Anaiya creates music that resonates deeply with her listeners, showcasing wisdom and emotional depth far beyond her years. Drawing inspiration from legendary artists like Alanis Morissette, Billy Joel, Taylor Swift, and Carole King, she has crafted a distinctive pop/rock sound infused with raw emotion and personal storytelling.

A graduate of the prestigious Talent Development Project, Anaiya has earned recognition and praise from industry heavyweights for her undeniable talent and stage presence. Whether she’s performing an intimate acoustic set or leading her band in an electrifying show, Anaiya’s performances leave a lasting impression, connecting audiences to the beauty and truth in her music.


CROCQ & THE BAND

It’s time to get ready to experience the musical journey of CRocQ! For 12 years, CRocQ has been hard at work honing his craft to bring the world a unique sound.
As a part of a musical family, it was only in his teenage years that he truly discovered his love for music.

“Music is a language that can be understood by everyone. It allows you to communicate to people in ways, that words and emotions cannot do alone.”

CRocQ’s passion for music has taken him to some amazing places – from New Zealand, Fiji, Thailand, New York City, Seattle, London, Denmark, Philippines and Vanuatu –
and now he is ready to bring his gift to the people of Newcastle and abroad. 


THE CARLY CHAMPION BAND


A veteran to the world of entertainment, Carly Champion has been engaging audiences with her powerhouse vocal ability and fun-loving personality since the early 2000’s.
In 2006 Carly became a recipient of the ASCAP (American Society for Composers, Authors & Publishers) ‘Bound for Broadway’ Scholarship. Carly travelled to the United States to work and perform alongside New York’s Music Theatre elite. It was here she had the opportunity to perform at the famous ‘Birdland’ Jazz Club, ‘Don’t Tell Mamma’ Cabaret Lounge and then later at ‘Bakers’ Jazz Club in Detroit, Michigan.
This marked the start of Carly’s journey on the international stage and from that opportunity she has continued to soar.Prior to international success, it was in the corporate events scene that Carly cut her teeth and honed her performance craft. Performing at major event venues like: Qudos Bank Arena, Roche Estate, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Entertainment Centre, The State Theatre, Hordern Pavilion and the Sydney Convention Centre; just to name a few. Carly has worked alongside the likes of James Morrison & Band, Marty Rhone, Kate Ceberano, Jon Stevens, Todd McKenny, Shannon Brown, Paulini Curuenvuli, Travis Collins, Angus Stone and Mollie McClymont.

CASCADENCE

Cascadence are a unique band offering a boutique listening experience.
Consisting of tertiary educated musicians, Cascadence love to draw on their background in Neosoul/Jazz to provide unique, personalised experiences and breathe new life into Pop and R&B bops.
The band features Grace Finlayson on vocals, Sam Madden on bass, Mitchell Cordingley on guitar and Bailey Graeber on drums.


Felix Quinn Band

A dynamic four-piece cover band that will get your feet tapping and your hands clapping. With their infectious energy and diverse musical repertoire, this talented group brings a fresh and captivating twist to your favourite hits. At the heart of the Felix Quinn Band is Quinn, a charismatic lead vocalist known for her captivating stage presence and versatile vocal range. Whether blowing your mind with her gritty powerhouse Soul, RnB, and Rock vocals or melting your heart with her sweet falsetto, Quinn’s voice is guaranteed to captivate audiences and leave a lasting impression. Supporting Quinn is a tight-knit ensemble of seasoned musicians who form the backbone of the band's distinctive sound.  On bass, we have Felix, a groovy and precise musician whose infectious basslines and beard anchor the band's sound with precision and flair. 


HALF NELSON

Half Nelson are a unique mix of musicians, from a wide variety of backgrounds.
From New Orleans Jazz to Free Improvisation and all manner of music along the way.

This combination has helped to forged a band dedicated to the era of jazz we love. The 1920's to Mainstream Jazz

​Formed in September 2008 in Newcastle, Australia, by sister and brother Sheriden and Jason Nelson, Half Nelson is a fine collective of musicians.
Half Nelson can take you to the back alleys of New Orleans and the smokey Jazz dives of 1920's Harlem, or all the way to that cocktail ball you've always wished you'd been invited to.

From gritty Billie Holiday to the smooth stylings of Ella Fitzgerald, add a shot of Louis Armstrong with a dash of what's good for you, and you have the smooth energy that is Half Nelson.


Jazz Classics With Zoe K

Ladies and gentlemen, prepare to be transported to the golden age of jazz. On this evening, we pay homage to the legendary artists and timeless melodies that have defined this genre. From the smoky bars of New Orleans to the iconic stages of Harlem, Zoe K will take you on a soulful journey through the heart of jazz. Let the smooth rhythms and soulful improvisation fill your senses in this unforgettable evening of musical elegance.

The woman behind the voice, Internationally acclaimed vocalist Zoe K, has been commanding the stage with her blend of jazz and soul with an added pinch of that old-school substance and style. Having relocated to Sydney after performing at her second home New Orleans, Zoe K is a fresh addition to the music scene with a remarkable voice that pays tribute to the bygone greats of soul, jazz and blues. With an E.P (2010) and Studio Album (2017) recorded and produced with some of New Orleans’s greatest mainstays, Zoe K’s musical offering received reviews such as “a welcomed dose of old school substance and style in an often manufactured, musical landscape”. With her live shows consisting of her compositions from her recently released album, she was invited to perform at the 2019 French Quarter Festival. In between her time in New Orleans, Zoe has also performed shows at iconic venues such as Howlin Wolf, Blue Nile, Maple Leaf and many more.


Zenith Pop Funk

Take modern pop songs, add funky fresh groove, a touch of brass and you’ve got ‘Zenith’!

From classic soul, to disco-pop, & funk-fusion, we love to get creative with our unique covers and mash-ups from Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Jonas Brothers, MJ, Shakira, Adele, Harry Styles and more, as well as some of our own classy originals.

Typically a 7-piece band featuring two trumpets, latin percussion, guitar, bass, drums and vocals, Zenith can expand or contract to suit venues and vibes. For the intimate ambiance of The Goldfish we’ll be playing as a four-piece featuring trumpet and upright bass.

Pete Hawkes

Legendary guitarist & composer Pete Hawkes teams up with the “Jazz Cat” fiddler extraordinaire Phoebe Hasleden, & Amazing Celtic Harpist Dave Garner for a night of his original Celtic, Jazz, Folk & Blues music on the 27th July 2024 at the Goldfish.

Phoebe is one of Oz’s finest Jazz fiddlers and has cut it with the best. Pete Hawkes, who has worked with Joe Cocker, Bert Jansch, Dave Swarbrick & Phil Emmanuel to name just a few is best known for his ability to compose music from many different genres. In 2002 Hawkes won the ABC Newcastle Songwriter of the Year Award, and won another ABC award in 2009 for his instrumental works. In 2012 he was recognised as an Australian music legend by receiving a MUSICOZ Legend award. He has recorded over 1200 recordings covering a wide range of different genres.
